OK... so... I can't say who I am casing.... You' can visit the Crafty Gals on my right side of my blog, go on their March projects and try to guess. Crafty Gals November Challenge!!!

Hello everyone!!!. November challenge with the Crafty Gals!!!. I would like to invite you to check everyone's blog, we have a wonderful creative group.

This month our hostess is our sweet Jackie and she challenged us like this:

"November is for Thanksgiving and we all have so many things to be thankful for so my challenge for you this month is to create a project to showcase our Blessings. It can be a card, shadowbox, picture frame, scrapbook layout, mini album, etc. Please make whatever your heart desires as long as it features what your are thankful for and I also want to use a fall theme for your creations".

Of course the first thing that came to my mind when thinking about thankfulness were my kids and my family but I couldn't think of a stamp to show that. Then in my church's magazine, I read about the responsibility we have to take care of our world because that was God's precious gift to us. The post talked about taking care of our nature and then I saw this lovely stamp by Riley and Company. Fall is my favourite season. I LOVE fall colours and I pictured God painting all this beautiful colours for us to enjoy.

Also I'm using this card for the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge #76 and Riley and Company Challenge Riley2212.

For this card I used:

Cardstock: Really Rust, Summer Sun and Whisper White from SU
Designer Paper: Lost and Found2 from My Mind's Eye
Stamps: Under the Tree Riley and Company and the sentiment is from the set Just Believe from SU
Accessories: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Round stax die and Fishtail die from MFT, Scallop border punch from SU. Pearls from Recollections, Copic Markers and Paper piercing tool kit from SU.

Crafters of Faith October Challenge

Hello everyone!!!. End of the month again and the Crafters of Faith have another great challenge to share. This month our hostess was Sharon and she challenged our group with this:

Sharon's favourite season is Autumn..."In Southern Ontario it is quickly making its appearance and where I'm fro the colour of the changing leaves can be quite spectacular. It's so inspiring... I just love it! Autumn also includes my most favourite holiday celebration... Thanksgiving!. It's hard not to love a holiday that calls on us to give thanks for our blessings. I realize not everyone around the world celebrates this holiday and our friends in the U.S. don't celebrate until November, so for this challenge you can choose to make either a card for Thanksgiving or a thank you card for someone who has been a blessing to you. Please use at least 2 designer papers and 1 embellishment, and most importantly, have fun!

For this card I used:

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Really Rust from SU
Designer Paper: it is an old DP from SU and I can't remember the name (this are my old scrap that I'm using for the Use it Tuesday challenge...also the orange in the pumpkins).
Stamps: Maybelle R.O. (Whimsy and Stars Studio). Pilgrim digi.
Accessories: Scallop square Spellbinder, Leaves punch and branch punch from Martha Stewart, Pearls from the dollar store, Paper Piercing tool kit from SU, Copic markers and the flower dies from MFT.

Earthquake Alert?

Hello everyone!!!. Well... I know... the title of my post today is not my favourite one at all. This past weekend British Columbia experienced two earthquakes. We have been expecting a big one for ages, it may come or not but we are always aware that it can happen. Well my son's school has this routine every year: parents have to write a letter of comfort for our kids in case of emergency. We have to prepare a Ziplog bag with the letter, an underwear change, socks, a little toy and a family picture.  I cry so much every time I have to do this. Well... this year and after two 7.7 earthquakes this past weekend I decided to keep him home today and make a card for him to take tomorrow to school.

I know... I have two more kids but they are older and understand more the situation. My oldest son was at a Youth Service in our church on Saturday when the first one shook B.C. He said he didn't feel it but he saw the lamps of the church moving from side to side. I asked him if he was scared and he said "NO"... "it is not that the whole church was moving... then I would have been scared"... but for my seven years old the story is completely different, plus he is "TERRIFY" of natural disasters. He cannot see the news reporting about one that immediately asks... "is that in Canada???".

All my prayers for everyone in the East and West coast of North America this days!!!.

For this card I used:

Cardstock: Whisper White and  Not Quite Navy from SU
Designer paper: Breeze from My Mind's Eye
Stamps: Little Loves from Some Odd Girl and I love you sentiment from Frosty and Fabulous snowman from MFT
Accessories: Oval Stax die from MFT, Vanilla hodgehardware, Paper piercing tool kit, button, Perfect Polka dots embossing folder and Star punch from SU, Twine from the dollar store and Copic Markers.

Crafty Gals October Challenge

Hello everyone!!!. Another monthly challenge for the "Crafty Gals". This month our hostess was our sweet Athina and she challenged us like this:

Think Outside the Box!

I challenge you to make a project with no squares or rectangles (not even the base of a card or scrapbook layout). Since we have already stepped outside the box, lets take another step. Try a technique that you have not tried before. It is always fun to learn something new and expand our creativity. Have fun with it! I can't wait to see what you create!

I have to say that it was a real challenge for me. I tried for the first time distress inks. I tried so many times and here the result:

Maybe it is just me but my distress background don't look like the nice projects I see on line. Well I really like Athina's projects so she would be a real judge for me this time.

For this card I used:

Cardstock: River Rock and Whisper White from SU
Stamp: Being cute is what I do from MFT and French Script Background from SU
Accessories: Copic Markers, Circle and Scallop Circle Spellbinders. Courderoy buttons from SU, the brown one from Michael's and the flower from the dollar store. And of course Tim Holtz distress ink pads: Peeled paint, Broken China and Antique Linen

Crafters of Faith September Challenge

Hi everyone!!!

To God who gives our daily bread
A thankful song we raise,
And pray that he who sends us food
May fill our hearts with praise.
Thomas Tallis (1505-1585)

Welcome to the first  *Crafters of Faith* Blog Hop!  We are so blessed to have you stop by and celebrate the beauty of AUTUMN with us!  The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together!   If you are just visiting and would like to hop with us, welcome!  If you hopping along already, you should have arrived from Carol's blog.

This month, our hostess is Carol S!  She gave us a wonderful Harvest challenge and here is what she asked us to create: "I love FALL, the colors and the smells! I would like to propose that we make a card with fall colors, it should include fruits and vegetables to remind us of the harvest. When my kids were small, I canned peaches and pears, made pickles and such. So much fun to open those jars in the dead of winter! I am looking so forward to the fall festival of Sukkoth (Feast of Tabernacles). To Biblical historians, this is the actual time of Christ's Birth and many people believe this will also be the season of HIS return. Blessings All!"

To celebrate in this glorious season upon us, here is the card I created for you!

For this card I used:

Cardstock: Soft Suede and Very Vanilla from SU
Designer Paper: Generations from Simple Stories
Stamps: A very old old stamp from SU "Loads of Love" and "Loads of Love accessories"
Accessories: SU stripped Chocolate Chip Ribbon and Twine, Fishtail die from MFT, Circle Spellbinder, Copic Markers and a simple button.

From here, continuing hopping to Liz's blog to see what Autumn splendor she has waiting for you! We also have a special little giveaway for one lucky hopper today and you can find that on Kelly's blog - the last stop on the hop!

Thank you for stopping by today!  In this glorious season of Fall, and the wonders of the earth changing to gorgeous colors .... in a time of gratitude and thanksgiving ... we wish many blessings for you!

Crafty Gals September Challenge!!!

Hello everyone!!!. It has been so long since my last work. After the busy summer, holidays, mother's and mother's in law visits and the beginning of another school year... I'm ready to start another year of crafting. I didn't start this month on time and I have to apologize to my Crafty Gals for posting this late. The due date was on the 5th but I forgot to make my card on time and then everything run really late. I managed to make it though. Our hostess this month is the lovely Jeanette and the challenge was this:

The Simple Plan: Make a card using a punch somewhere on it. Easy Peasy!

The Advanced Plan: Make a card where you use punches to make something they were not originally intended for. For example: Use oval punches to make a frog, use circle punches to make a snowman, use the stocking punch to make a stick horse, use a heart punch to make a Christmas tree, use a variety of punches to make a chef or witch or elephant, etc.

I chose the Simple Plan. I don't have many punches. I bought this punches specially to make a Kitti Caracciolo's Hydrangea. I fall in love with her flower last year and since then I meant to do this but never tried it. So this challenge put me in the mood to try it. This card is going to my friend Karina's birthday (I hope she is not visiting my blog for a couple of more weeks...LOL!!!) Here is Kitti's Hydrangea Tutorial:

http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/punched-hydrangea-tutorial.html

And here is my card:

For this card I used:

Cardstock: White from Recollections, Old Olive and Lavender Lace from Stampin Up
Ink: Sahara Sand from SU
Stamps: Curly cute from SU
Accessories: Circle punches, Hydrangea punch from Martha Stewart, Flourish die and Fishtail die from MFT.

Crafters of Faith August Challenge

Hello everyone!!! Another month with the COF Sisters. I have to say "I LOVE this month's challenge". Liz was our hostess this month and here is her challenge:

This is my birthday month, and a peridot is my birthstone. It is one of my favorite shades of green. My challenge for you is to use your own birthstone color and make a monochromatic card. If you have an April birthday you can make a white on white card and use diamond bling for your embellishments or clear buttons. If you are a June birthday, you could make a white card and use pearlized paint or pearls to add some pazzazz!! Use whatever neutral color you would like with your birthstone color and have fun dazzling us.

My month is in April so I choose to make a white card with diamonds and here it is:

Please visit my other COF Sisters for wonderful creations!!!

For this card I used:

Cardstock: White from Recollections
Stamp: Word Play from SU
Accessories: Embossing folder and Rhinestones from SU, Crumb Cake ink pad from SU as well and Butterflies die and Oval Stax die from MFT
